Näyttely

As a design, the Näyttely dining table is an archetypal table with meticulously finished detailing that gives it a unique quality. The horizontal veneer on the tabletop accentuates the surface and creates an interesting contrast with the austere profile of the table.

Re-issued in autumn 2021, the minimalist dining table forms a part of the Näyttely series designed by Carl-Gustaf Hiort af Ornäs. The table is handcrafted by our cabinetmakers and suits any interior from public spaces to private homes.

A pioneer of Finnish design, Carl-Gustaf Hiort af Ornäs originally designed the collection in 1955 as an interior element for Finnish embassies. The Näyttely table and chairs form a harmonious dining set. Thanks to the streamlined form of the Näyttely dining table it can be combined with many different types of dining chairs

The solid-wood table comes in a choice of three types of wood: walnut, the Scandinavian favourite birch and oak. The veneering on the tabletop is identical to the frame.

The Näyttely table is available in two versions, one with a solid and one with an extendable top. The extension leaf has a similar apron with the tabletop so that the silhouette of the table remains uninterrupted when extended. The mechanism of steel runners and ball bearings guarantees flawless ease of use.

The dining set of Näyttely chairs and dining table form a balanced and beautifully harmonious whole. Thanks to the pared-down design, Näyttely chairs can be combined with a variety of different dining tables. The chair also serves as a beautiful statement piece on its own.
